Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Trip

When Marrakech simmers, the Ourika Valley stays cool. This easy day trip follows the river into the High Atlas, past terraced gardens and pise villages clinging to the slopes, to the trailhead at Setti Fatma.

A local mountain guide leads the walk to the first waterfalls — an easy scramble rewarded with mountain air and mint tea at a stream-side cafe. On the way back we stop at a traditional Berber house for tea and, in season, at the saffron and aromatic gardens of the valley.
