We were nervous about booking online but this was flawless from the first WhatsApp message. Hamid our driver was funny, safe and endlessly patient with photo stops. The night in the camp — drums around the fire, more stars than sky — honestly made us cry. Book it.
3-Day Desert Tour: Marrakech to Merzouga
Overview
This is the tour that made our name. In three days you will cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass, walk the film-famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, follow the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs through Skoura and the Todra Gorge, and finally trade the 4x4 for a camel as the dunes of Erg Chebbi turn gold.
The night in the desert is the heart of the journey: a traditional camp among the dunes, tagine cooked over fire, Berber drums under the Milky Way, and — for the early risers — the most beautiful sunrise in Morocco. On day three we loop back to Marrakech through the Draa palm groves, full of photos and very short on words.
