Merzouga & Erg Chebbi

Merzouga is the village at the foot of Erg Chebbi, a sea of golden dunes rising to 150 meters on the edge of the Algerian frontier. This is the desert of your imagination: camel caravans at sunset, drum circles by the fire, and a silence at midnight you can almost touch.

Beyond the classic camp night: 4x4 safaris around the erg, sandboarding, the Gnawa music village of Khamlia, and star fields that make city dwellers gasp. Come between October and April for perfect temperatures.
